阿者科村隶属于新街镇爱春村委会，距离新街镇镇28公里， 农民收入主要以种植业、畜牧业为主。

Azheke village(阿者科村) is attached to Aichun village committee( (爱春村委会) ) of Xinjie (新街) Town, which locates in 28 kilometers away from Xinjie  Town(新街镇), and the major incomes of the native farmers are from the planting industry and animal husbandry.

Azheke （阿者科）village locates in Hani （哈尼）nationality’s stockade villages of more than 60 households at the deep halfway Yuanyang (元阳) terrace, which is located in“ world cultural heritage site: millennial Hani Terrace”—one of Yuanyang (元阳)’s most important traditional villages, and it conserves the typical eco-village of “forest—basin—terrace—village” and traditional mushroom-shaped thatchedshed.

There are plenty of both domestic and foreign tourists visiting annually from November till April next year. The terrace that is downward the village is where the villagers of Hani (哈尼) nationality farm and cultivate for thousands of years, which is the place that the villagers produce in and live in, as well as the birthplace of the cultural treasure of Hani (哈尼) nationality.

The name—“Azheke （阿者科）”, according to its semantic meaning, means a tiny place of vigorousness and luckiness. The stockade village is constituted of various single traditional ethnic mushroom-shaped chambers, which are well-proportioned.

Thanks to the well-conserved forest upward the stockade village, the whole village utilizes the spring water from the mountain for production and livelihood. This traditional living environment sufficiently embodies the harmonious coexistence of mountain, river, village, farmland, and forest.

Azheke （阿者科）village was built in the deep mountain, and it is an ancient village surrounding by terrace, that has a long standing history. The ancient mushroom-shaped chambers, and horse caravan along with the terrace constitute of great scene, which was once chose as a site for film shooting.

This place was one of the film shooting locations of the movie “Forever Young” (《无问西东》). The villagers here are honest and hospitable. Siting at the sightseeing platform and looking at the cloud and fog dimly surround the remote terrace and chatting with the native elderly about their life and the history here, is sort of enjoyment of coziness.

The cultural education of Azheke （阿者科）village

The native elementary students go to the elementary school of Aichun (爱春), and the middle school students go to the middle school of Shengcun village(胜村). The Shengcun village(胜村) locates in 1.50 kilometers away from the elementary school, and locates in 10.00 kilometers away from the middle school. At present, the voluntary education of this village comprises enrolled students of 39 elementary students and 14 middle school students.
