About Chu Orange in Xinping County

Chu orange (褚橙, Chinese Pinying: chǔ chéng) is a special produced rock sugar navel orange in Yunnan province. It got the name because of its grower's name Chu Shijian褚时健. Its shape is circular to oblong with orange-yellow color. Chu Orange contains a lot of vitamin C and has high nutritional value.

The fame of Chu orange makes the Chu Orange Manor on the Ailao mountain more attractive. Many tourists and entrepreneurs come to visit, inspect and self-driving travel at Chu Orange Manor for its fame. Chu orange garden, originally a planting base, has even become a tourist destination in Xinping.

Features of Chu Orange Manor

In the spring of 2013, the construction of "Chu Orange Manor褚橙庄园" project was officially launched. The newly-built Chu orange manor is divided into five parts, guesthouse area, farm stay area, ecological breeding area, leisure fishing area and fruit garden. Among them, guesthouse area, farm stay area and leisure fishing area are the focus of construction.
 
Chu Orange Manor is divided into two parts. The new building on the top of the hill can provide business meetings and receive high-end tourists, and can accommodate up to 80 people at a time. The mountainside part constructs eating and drinking establishment which is mainly farm stay. Relying on Chu orange manor, an ecological tourist attraction integrating cultural display, conference reception, tourism training and leisure sightseeing is built here.

Where is the Chu Orange Manor?

Xinping Yi and Dai Autonomous County新平彝族傣族自治区 (Xinping county for short) is under the jurisdiction of Yuxi city, 180 kilometers from Kunming city, 90 kilometers from Yuxi city. Chu orange manor is located on Ailao mountain in Xinping county. Originally just a planting base, Chu orange garden has even become a tourist destination in Xinping.

How to Get There?

There are 6 non-stop buses a day from Kunming to Xinping County. Then another 1.5 hours drive needs to spend from Xinping county to Chu Orange Manor.

Ailao mountain, with an area of 50,660 hectares, is located at the junction of the five counties in Yunnan province, including Xinping County. Established in 1986 with the approval of the people's government of Yunnan province, and promoted to national level in 1988, the main protected objects are evergreen broad-leaved forest and wildlife.

Next to the Enshui highway恩水公路, the whole falls are spread over huge rock slabs at a greatest width of more than 10 meters, with a drop up to 100 meters.

Tea-horse Ancient Road Scenic Spot is located at the heart of Ailao mountain, Qianjiazhai Village千家寨. There are historical sites like "Ma Ta Shi Chuan马踏石穿", "Qianjiazhai Village Walls千家寨寨墙", "Iron-fining Furnace" and so on.
 
4. Longquan Temple龙泉寺
 
Longquan temple was built in 31 years of Qing Guangxu清光绪三十一年. It is the holy land of Buddhism and Taoism in Xinping. There are more than 20 attractions, such as the bell tower, Wangcheng tower, the jade emperor pavilion and the Great Buddha's Hall.

Best Time to Visit

Chu Orange Manor is on Ailao mountain. Therefore, a trip to Chu Orange Manor is recommended in spring and autumn as Summer rains frequently which could result in a bad condition of roads.

Useful Travel Tips

1. Dressing

Located on Ailao mountain in Xinping County, the temperature difference at Chu Orange Mountain is large. You are supposed take coats to prevent a cold because of the large temperature difference from daytime to night.

2. Sunscreen

Ultraviolet ray there is strong during sunny days, you should bring sun cream, sun glasses, sun hat or other screen products.

3. Safety

Mountain area is prone to natural disasters, so try not to go out in heavy rain.
