Honghe Honghe Prefecture Museum in Mengzi City travel guide introduces the main attractions, entrance tickets booking, The best time to visit, How to Get there, the highlights, facts, history, photos, weather, accommodation, visiting routes, travel tips, tour maps of Honghe Prefecture Museum in Honghe(红河州博物馆).

Honghe Prefecture Museum is located at the west end of Honghe Administration Center of Honghe Prefecture. It has an area of 3266 square meters and was built up in 2003. Being a cultural department under Honghe Culture and Sports Bureau, it officially opened on October 8, 2005. It has collections of over 8000 pieces including paintings, potteries, fossils and etc. It has three floors that respectively focuses on themes as “Rich and Beautiful Honghe”, “Colorful Minorities” and “Mysterious and Historical Honghe”. Based on these themes the works are exhibited accordingly.

The museum has successfully organized many exhibitions and fairs such as the 13th Yunnan Orchid Exhibition, Hani International Clothing Culture Seminar, Beijing Hani Minority International Clothing Exhibition, A-Hundred-Year Yunnan-Vietnam Railway Exhibition and etc.

It has been open to the public for free since June 15, 2008 and has at least 1000 visitors per day. With support of various entities, it is an important window for Honghe to open to the world.
