Overview

Huashitou Mountain (花石头山) is the highest peak in Xundian County (寻甸县), reaching an altitude of 3,294 meters. The mountain is named for its silhouette, which resembles a legendary Chinese dragon lying across the northern part of Xundian County. The summit features a broad and gentle peak, surrounded by deep valleys with sparse vegetation. Numerous peculiar giant rocks can be found scattered across the mountaintop, each with unique shapes, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and the vast landscape.

Natural Wonders of Huashitou Mountain

? Huashitou Mountain, with its height of 3,294 meters, is one of the ten peaks of Kunming (昆明) and the highest peak in Xundian County. This majestic mountain, resembling a giant dragon, stretches across the northern part of Xundian County. ?

? The summit of Huashitou Mountain is broad and flat, while the surrounding valleys are deep and steep. Although the vegetation is sparse, the area is filled with nature's astonishing creations. Visitors can witness countless unusual giant rocks in various orientations, each one more astonishing than the last. ?

? Upon reaching the summit, the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks will leave you in awe, making you feel as though the entire world lies beneath your feet. Additionally, there are over 40,000 acres of lush grasslands and meadows, where vibrant green grass and beautiful wildflowers create a stunning landscape. ?

? If you plan to explore this natural wonder, you can travel by car from Kunming to Xundian's Gongshan Town (功山镇), covering a distance of 130 kilometers. While the trekking route poses certain challenges, the scenic beauty along the way is definitely worth the effort. Don't forget to bring warm jackets and rain gear, along with food to quickly replenish your energy! ?
