Manjinglan Tourist Street (曼景兰旅游一条街) is located in Manjinglan Village (曼景兰村), in the southeastern corner of Jinghong City (景洪市), Yunnan Province (云南省). Adjacent to the urban area, it developed from a large Dai (傣族) settlement of nearly 200 households. The street is known for its cluster of over 20 Dai-style restaurants, some offering song-and-dance performances and guesthouse accommodations. Visitors can enjoy traditional dishes such as lemongrass grilled fish (香茅草烤鱼) and chicken stewed with sour bamboo shoots (酸笋煮鸡), as well as experience Dai folk performances like “Zanha” (赞哈).
Historical and Cultural Background
Manjinglan Village was originally a large Dai village with nearly 200 households. With the growth of tourism, it evolved into a concentrated ethnic cuisine district, featuring densely arranged restaurants along the street. It forms a tourism network with nearby attractions such as Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (中国科学院西双版纳热带植物园), Wild Elephant Valley (野象谷), and Dai Ethnic Garden (傣族园).

Village and Scenery
Manjinglan Village currently has over 130 traditional bamboo stilt houses, surrounded by phoenix trees, mango trees, and ironwood trees, creating a picturesque environment. The vibrant ethnic dining scene, with restaurants lining both sides of the street, has earned it the nickname “Ethnic Flavor Food Street.”
Culinary Experience
Here, visitors can savor authentic Dai cuisine, including lemongrass grilled fish (香茅草烤鱼), chicken stewed with sour bamboo shoots (酸笋煮鸡), fried river moss (油炸青苔), bamboo sticky rice (香竹饭), and pineapple purple rice (菠萝紫米饭). Meals are often accompanied by live performances of Dai music and dance.
