Nestled in the Yilong Lake basin of Honghe Prefecture, Maohe Village (冒合村) is a historically rich and ecologically vibrant destination. Located just 0.5 km from Shiping County and 1 km from Yilong Town, it serves as a gateway to the famed Yilong Lake National Wetland Park. Recognized as a Traditional Chinese Village (2014 & 2016), Maohe blends Han and Yi ethnic cultures with breathtaking lakeside scenery.

Key Attractions

1️⃣ Yilong Lake Proximity

Scenic Beauty: The village borders Yilong Lake, a freshwater gem known for its lotus blooms (July–Sept) and migratory birds (Nov–Feb).
Activities: Enjoy boat rides through the lotus fields (best at dawn or dusk), cycling along lakeside trails, and photography at the wooden boardwalks and the “Lonely Tree” sunset spots.

2️⃣ Cultural Heritage

Traditional Architecture: Explore Ming-Qing style courtyards in sub-villages like Yuejiawan (岳家湾).
Intangible Culture: Witness Yi ethnic drum dances and “Haicaoqiang” folk songs performed during the lotus season.
