Overview

Transportation:

Tourists can take a taxi from Kunming Airport or the train station to the scenic area, with a round-trip fare of 200-300 RMB. If traveling by bus from Kunming train station, it takes about 2 hours, and the fare is 15 RMB.
From Kunming train station or near the Chayuan Hotel, there are minibuses that go directly to the Jiuxiang Scenic Area, with a round-trip ticket price of 30-40 RMB per person.
Minibuses heading to Yiliang County depart from Kunming North Bus Station, Juhua Village Bus Station, and Dongbu Bus Station, with a fare of 8 RMB. Upon arriving in Yiliang, you can transfer to another bus to Jiuxiang for an additional fare of 6 RMB.

Food and Accommodation:

Within the scenic area, there are Jiuxiang Hotel and Fulin Mountain Villa, which are simple and elegant, blending harmoniously with the surrounding scenery. Standard room rates start at 80 RMB per room, and suites start at 120 RMB per room.

Most of the food in the Jiuxiang Scenic Area is mainly based on wild mountain plants, which become more diverse with the changing seasons. In spring, when everything comes back to life, you can taste flowers like wild pear blossoms, sand pine tips, bitter thistle flowers, and dragon claw vegetables.

During the summer and autumn, you can enjoy over 20 varieties of wild mushrooms found in the mountains, such as chicken mushrooms, dried mushrooms, porcini, and butter mushrooms.

In winter, you can savor rural-style dishes such as cured meats, barbecued meats, smoked meats, and beef jerky, as well as the ever-popular Yiliang roast duck.

Shopping:

Here, you can also purchase Jiuxiang Scenic Area specialty embroidery, featuring designs such as Yincui Gorge, Shentie, and the Male and Female Waterfalls, framed in rosewood, which looks very ancient and elegant. Prices vary based on size, generally around 600-800 RMB.

The Jiuxiang Scenic Area in Kunming is located in the Jiuxiang Yi and Hui Autonomous Township of Yiliang County, Kunming City. The planned area of the scenic spot is 167.14 square kilometers. It features geological relics and landscapes formed by the uplift of plateau structures, karst hydrological geology, and river geological actions. It is characterized by typical cave and canyon landscapes, centered around karst cave scenery, integrating natural landscapes, cultural sites, and ethnic customs into a comprehensive scenic area.
