Qianmenkou Mosque in Weishan County, Dali

Qianmenkou Mosque (签门口清真寺) is located in Weishan County (巍山县). It was originally constructed in the 14th year of the Guangxu reign (1888). The main prayer hall features a single-eaved Xieshan-style roof and covers an area of 405 square meters. Historical Development

Initial Construction

The mosque was first built in the 14th year of the Guangxu reign (1888).

Renovation and Reconstruction

It was reconstructed in 1983.

Architecture and Scale

The main prayer hall adopts a single-eaved Xieshan-style design, with a floor area of 405 square meters. The minaret, with a four-cornered pointed-roof structure, covers 210 square meters. There are also several timber-structured wing rooms used as classrooms and dormitories for imams (阿訇) and mullahs (满拉). The entire mosque occupies approximately 5 mu, with a total built-up area of 1,770 square meters.

There are over 20 imams in the village, one Arabic-language school, and 7 mullahs. The mosque is surrounded on three sides by mountains, facing the Xihe River (西河) to the east. The natural landscape is lush and beautiful, with green hills and clear waters. The local Muslim population consists of over 60 Hui (回族) households, totaling more than 330 people, all of whom follow the Qadim (格迪目) tradition.
