Shangxilianhua Mosque (上西莲花清真寺) is located in Shangxilianhua (上西莲花), Yongjian Township (永建乡), Weishan County (巍山县), Yunnan Province (云南省). The mosque’s original construction date is unknown. Over the years, it has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times. The most recent expansion took place in 1977. The current prayer hall adopts a single-eaved Xieshan (歇山) architectural style and covers an area of 350 square meters. The entire mosque complex occupies approximately 4 mu, with a total built-up area of 1,216 square meters.
The date of the mosque's original construction is not recorded. It was destroyed in the 11th year of the Tongzhi reign (1872) during the Qing Dynasty. It was rebuilt in 1956 and expanded again in 1977.
The main prayer hall is built in a single-eaved Xieshan (歇山) style, covering 350 square meters. On both sides are traditional wooden-structure residential buildings, which serve as classrooms and dormitories for ahong (阿訇) and mullahs (满拉). The total land area of the mosque is approximately 4 mu, with a combined building area of 1,216 square meters.
The mosque currently has 11 ahong (阿訇), 1 hajj (哈吉), and operates one Arabic school. There are 30 mullahs (满拉) studying at the mosque. The mosque serves 33 Hui (回族) households, totaling 178 people, all of whom belong to the Gedimu (格迪目) sect.
Shangxilianhua (上西莲花) is located in the south-central part of Yongjian Basin (永建坝子), in Yongjian Township (永建乡), Weishan County (巍山县), Yunnan Province (云南省). The name “Shangxilianhua” refers to its location west of Donglianhua (东莲花), with which it shares similar characteristics.
