Shuanghe Ercun Village of Liude Town in Yongsheng County, Lijiang

Shuanghe No. 2 Village (双河二村) is located in Shuanghe Village Committee (双河村委会), Liude Township (六德乡), Yongsheng County (永胜县), Lijiang City (丽江市), Yunnan Province. It is situated in the middle of Talu Mountain (他留山), bordered by the highest peak of Talu Mountain, Wamuwa Mountain (娃姆娃大山) to the east, and Talu River (他留河), which originates from Talibo Mountain (他尔波忍山) in Yangping Township, to the west. It is also near the national key cultural relics protection unit, the ancient tomb complex of Yiping Village, to the south. Shuanghe No. 2 Village was originally established during the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty. Some surviving Talu people migrated from the Talu Castle and built their homes here, following the architectural style of the castle, with the mountains as the backdrop and the river in the front.

Natural Landscape

Surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, Shuanghe No. 2 Village has a high forest coverage rate and diverse seasonal landscapes. Every March and April, the mountains around the village are covered with pear blossoms, making it the best time for flower viewing and photography.

Ethnic Culture

Shuanghe No. 2 Village preserves rich Talu culture. The Talu people, who call themselves "Talusu," mainly live in administrative villages such as Shuanghe, Yingshan, and Yushui in Liude Township, Yongsheng County. Talu culture includes unique costumes, language, customs, and intangible cultural heritage, such as the textile technique of fire grass linen, which has been listed as a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage.

Agricultural Products and Specialties

The main agricultural products of Shuanghe No. 2 Village include rambutan, celery, potatoes, millet, and corn. In addition, the Talu people have cultivated a series of high-nutrition, pollution-free organic ecological ingredients, such as Talu black-boned chicken, Talu red rice, fire grass linen clothing, golden autumn red honey peaches, and Talu pears.

Shuanghe No. 2 Village is about 46 kilometers away from the county town of Yongsheng and 16 kilometers from the Liude Township government. From the Liude Toll Station of the Huili Expressway, drive about 11 kilometers towards Talu Mountain along Liude Street, which takes about 25 minutes by car.

Tourist Attractions

• Shuanghe No. 2 Village: Listed as a traditional Chinese village in 2014, the "Lan's Siheyuan" within the village is now a cultural relics protection unit of Yongsheng County.
• Talu Folklore Museum of Liude Township: Displays Talu culture, including Talu cultural relics and ancient books, which is an important part of Yongsheng's border garrison culture.
• Talu Cemetery and Ancient Castle Ruins: A national key cultural relics protection unit with over 16,000 tombs, recording the history of the Talu people.
