Geographic Setting

Nestled in Dajichang Village (大吉厂村), Miechang Township (篾厂乡), Maguan County (马关县), Wenshan Prefecture (文山州), Yunnan Province, this highland gem sits at an elevation of approximately 2000 meters.
It lies about 30 kilometers from Maguan town — navigation distances vary, so GPS guidance is recommended.

Cloudscape Wonders

Here, cloud layers roll like snowy waves, flooding valleys and draping hillsides like a vast celestial river.
When touched by sunlight, the clouds shimmer in gold, rose, and multicolor gradients. The dense winter formations create a grand vision of “boundless sea of clouds.”

Best Season to Visit

October to April, especially after rain on a clear morning.
From 06:00–08:00, the fusion of sunrise and cloud sea often forms breathtaking scenes like “golden light cascading over a river of clouds.”

Free Platform (免费台)
Lower elevation, bringing you close enough to feel the clouds. Offers strong immersion, though slightly limited visibility.

Paid Platform (付费台, approx. 5–10 RMB)
Elevated viewpoint with sweeping panoramas. Watch the cloud ocean surge like crashing waves. Ideal for long-lens photography, including distant glimpses of the Jinsha River (金沙江).

Clouds flow along ridgelines while Tyndall rays pierce through the forest canopy.

Sunset refracts through the clouds, evoking the image of “molten gold pouring into the sea.”

Sunrise Camping
Set up camp at the summit and wait for dawn. When sunlight breaks, the feeling of “standing above the clouds” is ethereal and dreamlike.

Mushroom Foraging
In autumn and winter after rainfall, wild mushrooms sprout across the forest floor. Join local villagers in matsutake (松茸) foraging adventures.

Chilly winds drive clouds over the cliffs like a waterfall in motion—a dance of stillness and surge that blurs the line between dream and reality.

Rainbow Cloud Veil (霞染云绸)

At midday, sunlight refracts through the cloud layers, creating multi-dimensional color bands—a sky-spanning illusion of silken fabric unfurled across heaven and earth.
