Located in downtown Jinghong City (景洪市), adjacent to Mengle Avenue (勐泐大道) and near the Xishuangbanna Prefecture Government offices, this urban lake spans 18,700 square meters, surrounded on three sides by water.

Open to the public year-round for free, it’s a beloved local leisure zone.

Expect scenes of residents playing cards, strolling, and enjoying daily life.

Covered in lush tropical rainforest vegetation, it echoes with birdsong. Schools of golden fish are visible in the lake’s clear water.

? Natural Features

Technically a repurposed reservoir called Mengjiu Reservoir (蒙鸠水库), this lake sits near the Menghuan Golden Pagoda and Silver Pagoda (勐焕大金塔/银塔).

The lakeside trail and cycling route span about 9 km, winding through rainforests and egret nesting areas.

Ideal for a walk or ride in the early morning or at dusk to avoid midday heat. Asphalt paths are interspersed with tree shade—bring sunscreen.

This lake is based on Dashariver Reservoir (大沙河水库), the third-largest reservoir in Jiangmen.

Enveloped in South Asian subtropical monsoon forest, featuring rare trees like Southwest birch and rosewood magnolia.
