Nestled at the foot of Maxiong Mountain in Zhanyi District, Qujing City, Yunnan Province, the Pearl River Source Scenic Area marks the birthplace of the Pearl River Basin. This destination blends stunning natural beauty with rich cultural heritage.
With over 90% forest coverage, clear streams, lush mountains, and serene lakes, it’s no wonder visitors find it unforgettable. Over 300 years ago, the famous Ming Dynasty traveler Xu Xiake left his footprints here.

Address: No. 66, Hou Pai Village, Liumaidi Village Committee, Yanfang Township, Zhanyi District, Qujing, Yunnan, China

How to Get There

? By Car: From Qujing city center, drive along the Qujing–Shengjing Expressway to Zhanyi, then follow signs to the scenic area. About 50 km, roughly 1 hour.
? By Public Transport:
1. From Qujing, take bus No. 3 or 33 to Zhanyi Bus Station
2. Walk 300 m toward Zhanyi No.1 Middle School
3. Take the shuttle to the scenic area (¥15–20)
? Holiday Shuttle Service: On public holidays, special tourist buses run from Qilin District directly to Pearl River Source.
