The Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge (中虎跳峡) is one of the most scenic and thrilling parts of the renowned Tiger Leaping Gorge (虎跳峡) in Yunnan Province. Known for its steep cliffs and rushing waters, the gorge attracts travelers and adventure seekers alike. The Stone Rapids and the Middle Rapids are notable features within this spectacular section of the gorge.

The Stone Rapids

The Stone Rapids is an iconic stretch where the Jinsha River (金沙江) surges violently over large boulders, creating an impressive sight. The force of the water crashing over the stones generates a thunderous roar, making this part of the gorge one of the most dramatic. It’s a photographer's paradise, with the combination of rugged terrain, the churning river, and the towering mountains.

The Middle Rapids

The Middle Rapids, located further along the gorge, feature even more intense water flow. The river here narrows, forcing the water into a tight channel, resulting in rapid surges and powerful waves.
