Overview

Tianshengqiao Cave is a natural limestone bridge located near Shazhai in Malipo County, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. The cave spans the Chouyang River, with turbulent water flowing beneath it. The area is known for its picturesque natural formations and is rich in local legend and folklore.

Natural Features

Structure: The cave consists of three levels, with interconnected chambers forming an intricate network. The main cave is grand and deep, while the side chambers meander around the river.
Rock Formations: The cave features a variety of stunning rock formations, including stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, and flowstones, which resemble various shapes and figures. A notable rock pillar near the entrance resembles a human figure and is associated with local myths.

Cultural and Mythological Significance

Legend: The cave is tied to the local legend of the "Dragon King and Maiden of Tianshengqiao," adding a mystical element to its natural beauty.

Travel Information

Access: Accessible via a road connecting Kaiyuan to Wenshan. Visitors can take a short-distance bus from Kaiyuan to Wenshan and disembark midway.
