Tongyi Village (统邑村) is located in Tadian Town (塔甸镇), Eshan County (峨山县), Yuxi City (玉溪市), Yunnan Province. It lies in the northwest of Eshan County, approximately 51 kilometers from the county seat. Tadian Town consists of seven village committees, and Tongyi Village is one of them.

History and Culture

Tadian Town (塔甸镇) has a long history. During the Yuan Dynasty, it was the site of a Hundred-Household Office. In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Dinggui Township (丁癸乡), and in the Republican period, it was part of Xunzhuang Township (勋庄乡). Tadian Town is regarded as the “first settlement” of the Yi ethnic group in Eshan County, the “origin of the Huagu Drum (花鼓),” and the “land of the sacred fire,” nurturing an ancient and authentic ethnic culture.
