Why is Yaozhou Dudufu Government House So Special

Yaozhou Dudufu Government House is located in the “Yixi Passage(迤西通道)” between Chuxiong and Dali. The seat of the County is a dam with a radius of dozens of miles. Since the Han Dynasty, Yaoan had been a political and cultural center in the Central Yunnan Province. In the first year of Linde of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty(唐高宗磷德元年) (AD 664), the imperial court set up the Yaozhou Dudufu Government House in Nongdong(弄栋)(now Yaoan County, in the Central Yunnan Province), recruiting 500 people each year to guard this place, and abolished the Mozhou Dudufu Government House, as the center of Yuanmou including Yaoan, Dayao, Yongren and Lufeng. Nongdong is the ancient name of Yaoan, and Yaoan in Han Dynasty was called as “Nongdong County”. Yaozhou Dudufu Government House is a jurisdictional agency focused on military affairs and political management.

Yaoan Longhua Temple
Yao'an Longhua Temple is located in 12 kilometers north of Yaoan County, the foothill of Xishan Mountain, Guanglu Town. The shape of the Xishan Mountain is like a dragon, and the mountain is known as Longhuashan Mountain(龙华山) by the locals.

Zijiuhai Sea(自久海)
Zijiuhai Sea was built in the early years of Ming Hongwu(明洪武), which has been more than 600 years. It is said that Zijiuhai Sea was excavated by the groups led by Zijiu(自九), the leader of the Yi nationality. There is a peninsula on the east bank of the sea, which is surrounded by the long embankment .

Defeng Temple
Defeng Temple is located in Defeng Road, Dongchuan Town, Yao'an County, Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province, which is a group of ancient buildings, built in the second year of Ming Yongle(明永乐二年,1404 AD). It is the ancient architectural group of Sanzhongtang(三重堂). It is a contemporary building with the Forbidden City in Beijing. It is the most complete one of the existing Ming Dynasty Dougong buildings(斗拱建筑) in Yunnan Province.
