Location & Overview
On the north shore of Changqiao Lake, Yongning Village borders Bisezhai Village (Caoba Town) to the east, Yingyue Village (Wenlan Town) to the south, Renhou Village (Guanlan Subdistrict) to the west, and Dagouxi Village (Caoba Town) to the north.
The administrative area covers Yongning and Mitangzhai Villages, with 9 village groups over 9.63 km².
Elevation 1,300 m, annual mean temperature 18°C, rainfall 850 mm – ideal for broad beans, chili peppers, pomegranates, tomatoes, and more.

? Ethnic & Cultural Heritage

Ethnic Composition – Over 90% are Yi (Nisu subgroup), the birthplace of traditional Yi Hua Deng (Flower Lantern) folk song-and-dance, earning the nickname “Hometown of Yi Hua Deng.”
Festivals – Hosts the Torch Festival and other folk celebrations that attract multi-ethnic audiences.
Cultural Preservation –
- Yi Hua Deng Training Center built in 2011 (300 m²) with exhibition hall and classrooms.
- Recognized in 2005 as a prefecture-level “Hometown of Yi Hua Deng Song & Dance.”
- Listed in 2017 as a Honghe Prefecture “Yongning Yi Hua Deng Heritage Site.”

? Economy & Livelihood

Agriculture – 64.97% of output from crops; also animal husbandry and fisheries.
2007 Data – Rural economy total revenue: 11.13 million RMB; per capita net income: 1,798 RMB.
Infrastructure – Road, power, and telephone access; hardened main road; biogas and solar facilities; “one pool, three renovations” program completed for 134 households.

2015 – City-level “Model Village for Ethnic Unity & Progress.”
2016 – Selected as City & Prefecture-level “Six Beautiful Villages.”
Known for harmonious neighborly relations and strong ethnic unity, described as a “harmonious and beautiful Yi township.”
