Yuji Island of Erhai Lake

Yuji Island(玉几岛) is one of the top three islands of Erhai Lake, also known as the first village of Cangshan and Erhai. Yuji Island enjoys the splendid culture of Nanzhao, mysterious ethnic custom and fantastic landscape of Cangshan and Erhai. There are many guest house. However, the famous Moon Palace and Qinglu are not open to the tourists. Travelers can take boat to appreciate the Moon Palace closely. Except for the natural landscape, there are also historic relics, such as the former residence of wife of Duan Siping, the base of Du Wenxiu. It is an advisable place for sightseeing and leisure.

Moon Palace (月亮宫)

Moon Palace of Yang Liping in Dali

Located in hillside and facing to Erhai Lake, it is like a is like a half bright moon rising from the sea. It is the private house of Yang Liping(杨丽萍), also the charming building of Erhai Lake. It was designed by Yang Qing. He built the Sun Palace and Moon Palace beside his house, Qinglu. Enjoying the charming landscape of Erhai in three sides, it offers the spacious terrace, the courtyard facing the sea, the calm reef, the duplex architecture and the transparent floor-to-ceiling windows, just like a fairyland.

Useful Travel Tips

When the weather is fine in Dali, the sunshine is heated, and ultraviolet light is strong. People should avoid direct sunlight, and the sun hat preparation is required during outdoor activities, a pair of sunglasses will make you comfortable in the trip.

The normal ticket is 25 yuan per person. If you buy ticket in Yuji Island, you just need to pay 10 yuan.
