natural resources

Taiyanghe National Forest Park is located in the transition area between tropical and subtropical, with a forest coverage rate of 94.5%. It preserves the largest and most complete subtropical monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest in China.

The dry and wet seasons are distinct throughout the year. The annual rainfall is 1600 mm. The content of negative oxygen ions in the air is very high (the content of negative oxygen ions in the air is more than 30000 per cubic centimeter throughout the year). It has a pleasant climate without severe heat in summer and severe cold in winter. It is really a fairyland and paradise in the world.

There are nearly 1000 species of plants in Taiyanghe National Forest Park of Pu’er. There are precious tree species protected by the state, such as “living fossil” tree collection, Rhododendron grandis and frame catch, velvety longan, Toona sinensis, and precious tree species Michelia pseudoacacia. There are 153 species of orchid species identified through specimen collection, which are called “natural garden”.

Due to the abundant heat, humid climate, dense forests, various forests and rich food, natural nitrate ponds are distributed on both sides of the Taiyang River, which provides a very superior environment for the survival and reproduction of wild animals. There are about 200 kinds of mammals and birds in the area, as well as many amphibians, reptiles, fish and insects. The wild animals under state key protection include bison, bee monkey, grey leaf monkey, golden cat, clouded leopard, otter, water deer, pangolin, giant lizard, great civet, Green Peacock, Sumen antelope, black bear, white bellied pheasant, etc.

It is also the only “Javanese bison habitat” in China, known as the “hometown of bison”.

In order to achieve the overall goal of harmony between man and nature, we should innovate forms and break through limitations in the display of biodiversity of wild animals and plants, so that tourists can have intimate contact with all kinds of wild animals and plants in the natural environment with ecology as the main body and forest as the basis, so as to fully meet the modern people’s yearning for natural wilderness, and strive for personal experience and deep perception.
