Mengzi Transportation

Mengzi city is the important channel from China’s southwest inland to southeast peninsula region. It is located on the junction of two sectors of China southwest region and southeastern countries, as well as the central node of Kunhe(Kunming-Hanoi) international economy corridor. Yunnan-Vietnam railway and Trans-Asia railway(Kunming-Singaport) pass through the whole city, Kunhe(Kunming-Hekou) and Guanglin(Guangxi-Lincang) express highway intersect vertically and horizontally in Mengzi. Honghe Mengzi airport is under construction. The airport is located in Daguoxi Village (大郭西村), Yuguopu Town (雨过铺镇). Modern railway, highway, air and water transport conditions in Mengzi are all ready.

How to Get in Mengzi

You have two ways to get to Mengzi city, long-distance bus and train. As for airplane, it is not available up to now.

1. By Long-distance Bus

There are 10 non-stop buses a day from Kunming East Station to Mengzi Bus Terminal. Here below are main bus terminals in Mengzi City.

2. By Railway

There are railway stations in Mengzi, you can reach to Mengzi directly by train. The railway stations in Mengzi are called Mengzi Station and Mengzi North Station.

3. By Air

At present, there is no airport in Mengzi, you can't go to Mengzi by plane. Mengzi airport, Mile airport, Yuanyang airport and Luxi airport in Hong Prefecture are under plan and construction. In the near future, going to Mengzi by airplane will be available.

How to Get Around Mengzi

1. By Taxi

Taxi is always the most convenient vehicle to get around a place. Taxis can be found everywhere in Mengzi, for people who want to get to their destination as quickly as possible, taxis are wise choice.

2. By Bus

In the city, buses run on the main street. Otherwise, there are regular buses between some town, townships and some villages in Mengzi, convenient and cheap.

3. By Minibus

Minibus is another way for local people who live in remote villages to travel a short distance. Passengers may wait for a minibus on the highway or just call the driver. Usually, the minibus will take you anywhere you want to go in a short distance, and the price is cheap.
