Mile Transportation

Mile is the "North Gate" of Honghe prefecture, which reaches 316 kilometers to the national open port in the south. The transportation of Mile city extends in all directions, with Kunhe Highway昆河公路 running through its hinterland 93 kilometers, Yunnan-Vietnam Railway crossing 78 kilometers along the west border, and G80 Guangkun Express Highway广昆高速 and Nankun Passenger Transport Line南昆客运专线 passing through. Mile is equipped with Mile Station.

How to Get in Mile City

You have two ways to get to Mile city, long-distance bus and train. As for airplane, it is not available up to now.

1. By Long-distance Bus

There are at least 4 non-stop buses a day from Kunming East Station to Mile Bus Terminal. Here below are main bus terminals in Mile City.

a. Mile Bus Terminal弥勒汽车客运站

Address: The Crossroad of Shuangqiao Road and Wenhua Street, Miyang Town, Mile City弥勒市双桥路与文化街交汇处

b. Dongshan Bus Terminal东山客运站

Address: Jiuxin Road, Dongshan Town, Mile City弥勒市东山镇旧新段

c. Xier Bus Terminal西二客运站

Address: Near Xixiao Road, Xier Town, Mile City弥勒市西二镇西小段附近

Kunming-Mile 

Price: 56 CNY

Departure Time: 9:30, 11:30, 14:30, 18:30

Distance: 130 kilometers

Consume Time: about 2 hours

2. By Railway

There is railway station in Mile, you can reach to Mile directly by train. The railway station in Mile is called Mile Station.

3. By Air

At present, there is no airport in Mile, you can't go to Mile by plane. Mengzi airport, Mile airport, Yuanyang airport and Luxi airport in Hong Prefecture are under plan and construction. In the near future, going to Mile by airplane will be available.

How to Get Around Mile City

1. By taxi

Taxi is always the most convenient vehicle to get around a place. Taxis can be found everywhere in Mile, for people who want to get to their destination as quickly as possible, taxis are wise choice. Generally, the starting fare is 5 CNY, and 1.4 CNY will be charged for each kilometer.

2. Bus

In the city, buses run on the main street. There are high-speed line buses in Mile. Otherwise, there are regular buses between some town, townships and some villages in Mile, convenient and cheap.

3. Minibus

Minibus is another way for local people who live in remote villages to travel a short distance. Passengers may wait for a minibus on the highway or just call the driver. Usually, the minibus will take you anywhere you want to go in a short distance, and the price is cheap.

4. Bicycle

Today, bicycle sharing is popular in China. You can see bicycles on the street. And in some scenic areas, rental bicycles are easily found.
