Daguan county(大关县) is rich in natural resources. You can find many kinds of local specialties in the local market. Usually, in each town, the markets are opened three days a time, and in the county seat, markets are opened everyday. If you don’t know what to buy in these local markets, some local specialties are listed as follow:

Cuihua Tea(翠华茶)

Cuihua tea has a long history of more than 500 years, according to Daguan County Annual, Cuihua tea was appraised as the second-class brand in the Panama Pacific International Exposition. It is known to people for its’ beautiful shape, nice taste and fragrance.

Daguan Sesame Seed Candy(大关麻糖)

The folk traditional handcraft food of Dagaun county has a long history of more than a hundred years. Among these food, the sesame sees candy which is made in Shoushan township(寿山乡) is the presenting one. The candy is made of sticky rice, sesame and powdered sugar. It has the characteristics of fragrant, sweet, thin and fragile. The candy also has the rich protein and some other vitamins.

Wax Printing(蜡染)

Wax printing is the handicraft of minority people in Zhaotong municipality, especially Miao people. The sculpts of Daguan wax printing are mainly stream, grass and flower, fish, insect, bird and so on. It draws materials widely, and it full of romantic color, the styles are also various. Daguan wax printing has a high collection value.

Daguan Green Bean Cake(大关绿豆糕)

Green bean cake is the specialty of Zhaotong city, also the traditional snack of Man people. It is sold across the country.
