2 Days Luoping Canola Flower Tour from Kunming

Start your adventure at 7:30 AM by gathering at Guomao Center (国贸中心) in Kunming (昆明). The group departs promptly at 8:00 AM, heading towards Luoping (罗平), a stunning county in Yunnan known for its beautiful canola flower fields and dramatic landscapes.

Upon arrival in Luoping, the first stop is the Duoyi River Scenic Area (多依河), where you'll explore the area from Duoyi Village (多依寨) to the Three Rivers Confluence (三江口). This 12-kilometer stretch of riverbed features nearly 40 waterfalls, surrounded by ancient trees and lush bamboo groves. The river's crystal-clear, blue waters and the natural, multi-layered rock formations along the riverbanks create a stunning scene. Particularly famous is the area called "One View, Ten Shoals" (一目十滩), where the calcium deposits form natural, beautiful layers across the riverbed.

As you continue along the winding river path, the lush surroundings are filled with centuries-old trees that resemble large natural sculptures. Start the day early with a sunrise photography session at Luositian (螺丝田), located in Niujie (牛街), 10 kilometers northwest of Luoping County (罗平县). Luositian is one of the most famous canola flower photography spots in the region. The unique terraced fields here are arranged in circular patterns, resembling the spirals of a screw when viewed from a distance. These karst terraces create a stunning natural landscape, ideal for photographers capturing the vibrant yellow canola flowers (油菜花) in the morning light.

Next, visit the Flower Sea Tent Camp (花海帐篷营地), located just 10 minutes from Luoping County (罗平县). The camp covers 55,278 square meters and offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. The picturesque setting changes with the seasons, with colorful flowers in bloom throughout the year, making it an ideal location to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Afterward, head to the Main Canola Flower Festival Venue (油菜花主会场). This area is a central point of the China-Yunnan-Luoping International Canola Flower Culture and Tourism Festival (中国云南罗平国际油菜花文化旅游节), which has been held since 1999. The vast fields of bright yellow canola flowers, accompanied by the golden sunlight shimmering across the petals, create a mesmerizing scene. This is a great spot for capturing the essence of Luoping’s (罗平) flower season.
