Upon arrival at Kunming Changshui International Airport (昆明长水国际机场), meet the private guide in the arrivals hall. Assistance will be provided with luggage, arrival procedures and the domestic flight connection.

Fly from Kunming to Lancang Jingmai Airport (澜沧景迈机场). After arrival, meet the local driver and travel directly into the Jingmai Mountain World Heritage Area (景迈山世界遗产地). The short flight avoids the lengthy overland journey from Kunming and allows guests to reach the mountain comfortably.

Arrive at Wengji Ancient Village (翁基古寨) and check in at a boutique tea-culture guesthouse. Wengji is one of the best-preserved traditional Bulang villages in Jingmai Mountain, with wooden houses, stone pathways, tea-drying courtyards and ancient tea forests forming a complete cultural landscape.

In the late afternoon, walk through the village, visit the historic Wengji Buddhist Temple (翁基古佛寺) and see traditional Bulang wooden houses, old banyan trees and village spaces connected with tea production and religious life. Continue to a mountain viewpoint for sunset and, when weather conditions are suitable, views of clouds gathering in the valleys below.

Wake early to enjoy the morning mist surrounding Wengji Ancient Village. Traditional wooden houses and tea forests often appear gradually as the clouds move through the mountain valleys, creating excellent conditions for photography.

After breakfast, travel to the Dapingzhang Ancient Tea Forest (大平掌古茶林) and enter the forest with a local Bulang tea farmer. Learn how tea trees grow within a multi-layered ecosystem of grasses, herbs, tea shrubs and taller native trees.

During the tea-picking season, guests can learn how to identify suitable buds and young leaves before picking fresh leaves from old tea trees. Continue to a traditional tea workshop and experience the main stages of handmade Pu’er tea production, including wok heating, hand rolling, leaf shaping and sun drying.

A guided tasting follows the workshop. Compare teas from different years, villages or tree-age categories while learning how to observe aroma, liquor colour, mouthfeel and aftertaste.

In the afternoon, visit Nuogang Ancient Village (糯岗古寨), a traditional Dai settlement surrounded by ancient tea forests. Walk through its wooden stilt houses, stone lanes and courtyards, and visit the local Dai Buddhist temple and old banyan trees.

Continue to Mangjing Upper Village (芒景上寨) and Mangjing Lower Village (芒景下寨). Visit the Mangjing Buddhist Temple (芒景佛寺), the ancient cypress tree and Tea Ancestor Square (茶祖广场) before reaching a mountain viewpoint overlooking the extensive ancient tea forests.

Return to Wengji in the evening and enjoy a traditional Bulang-style dinner.

Around midday, leave Jingmai Mountain and drive approximately 1.5 hours to Laodabao Lahu Village (老达保拉祜族村寨). Laodabao is nationally known for Lahu folk music and is closely associated with the cultural program Happy Lahu (快乐拉祜).

Walk through the village and see traditional wooden stilt houses, local courtyards and community spaces. Visit the intangible cultural heritage center, a Lusheng instrument workshop and a traditional weaving workshop.

Depending on the local schedule, enjoy original Lahu guitar songs, polyphonic group singing and Lusheng dancing. After the village visit, continue approximately two hours to Pu’er and check in at the forest resort.

Begin the city tour at Haigeng Dam (海埂大坝) on the shore of Dianchi Lake (滇池). Enjoy an easy walk along the plateau lake and views toward the Western Hills. From late autumn to early spring, migratory black-headed gulls can often be seen around the lakeshore.

After breakfast, travel to the Stone Forest Scenic Area (石林风景区) for a full-day exploration of one of Yunnan’s most important karst landscapes.

Visit Stone Forest Lake (石林湖), the Major Stone Forest (大石林), Minor Stone Forest (小石林), Sword Peak Pond (剑峰池), Wangfeng Pavilion (望峰亭) and the famous Ashima Stone (阿诗玛化身石).

Walk among towering limestone pillars, narrow passages, stone peaks and natural formations created over an immense geological period. The program is arranged at a relaxed pace with sufficient time for photography, rest and geological interpretation.

The guide will also introduce the traditions of the Sani people (撒尼人), a branch of the Yi ethnic group closely associated with the Stone Forest. Learn about the legend of Ashima, traditional clothing, music, festivals and the ways local communities interpret the dramatic limestone landscape.
