Jianchuan County Festivals and Events
As an area of minority, Jianchuan has many difference traditional festivals and various recreational activities.
1、Qingguniang Festival:
It is the 15th day of the first lunar month. Qingqing Festival is a commemorative song and dance festival for Bai women.
2、Mule and Horse Trade Fair (August Fair):
It is a fair that local people buy and sell their mules and horses. Meanwhile, there are various kinds of recreational activivies.
3、Shibaoshan Folk Song Festival:
It held from 26th day of the seventh lunar month to 1st of the eighth lunar month when the Bai people wear ehnic attire, sing in antiphony, and play three-stringed plucked instruments in the shape of a dragon's head.
