At present, the planting area of Yunnan coffee accounts for 70% of the total planting area in China and its production accounts for 83% of the total production of the whole country. Yunnan small seed coffee has established a dominant position in China. Let’s start a tour for looking for good quality of coffee and tea, and experience ethnic culture.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Puer City

Sightseeing and Activities: Puer Tea Expo Garden, Nandaohe Village
Accommodation: Puer
Meals: Lunch

Fly to Puer City in the morning. Head for the Puer Tea Expo Garden(中华普洱茶博览苑) for tea-leaf picking experience and learn how Puer tea is processed. This garden shows the origination, history, development, plantation, making process, and tasting of Puer tea.

After that, drive to Nandaohe Village which is in Simao District of Puer City. You will meet local coffee farmers. Then Visit their coffee planting base.

Day 2 Puer-Zhengdong Town-Jiangcheng

Sightseeing and Activities: coffee plantation
Accommodation: Jiangcheng
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Drive to Zhengdong Town. Meet local farmers of coffee and visit their coffee plantation. Stay overnight at local hotel or guesthouse in Jiangcheng.

Day 3 Jiangcheng County-Yiwu Town

Sightseeing and Activities: Yiwu Old Town, Local Family Visit, Tea Processing Workshops
Accommodation: Yiwu
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Drive to Yiwu, a small town once boomed due to tea trade in the history, see the old Yiwu town and the stele erected in Qing Dynasty that recorded the trade situation at that time, pay a visit to local families that are still producing Pu’er Tea in the traditional way. Visit some tea processing workshops.

Day 4 Yiwu Town-Menglun-Jinghong

Sightseeing and Activities: Menglun Tropical Botanical Garden, Jinuo Tea Mountain, Jinuo Village
Accommodation:Jinghong

Drive to Menglun Town, visit Menglun Tropical Botanical Garden, which holds more than 3000 species, enjoy nice scenery in the garden and learn about some interesting plants. Walk in rainforest zone, the most natural part of garden is especially recommended, where tourists seldom go there, very quiet and original, for simple knowledge about rainforest, the most bio-diversified vegetation type in the world, which is a good place.

Later, leave botanical garden for Jinuo Mountain Area and visit Jinuo People, who uniquely belongs to this region, is the last ethnic nationality classified by Chinese Government in 1979. See the ancient tea plantations around Jinuo village, which used to be one of Six Great Tea Mountains reputed as the cradles of famous Pu’er Tea. Back to Jinghong.

Day 5 Jinghong-Menghai-Jinghong

Sightseeing and Activities: Mount Nannuo, Trekking, Aini Village, Tea Workshop, Dai Village, Bulang Village
Accommodation: Jinghong
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Pick you up from the hotel. Drive to Mount Nannuo and trek about 2 hours from Ban Po Lao Zhai(半坡老寨)to see ancient tea plantation aged over 800 years of Aini people, Aini, who have been engaged in tea-planting here for centuries. Visit their village. Through chat we may discover how much Aini people rely on tea.

Then pay a visit to small tea workshop in the village to learn about how fresh tea leaves are processed. Trek down to the foot of the Mountain and move on to Menghai. 

Finally visit village of Bulang people, the third largest ethnic group of Xishuangbanna, who are farmers mainly engaged in planting tea and sugar cane, as well loyal Theravada Buddhists. Drive to Jinghong for overnight.

Day 6 Departure from Jinghong

Check out the hotel and drive to Kunming airport for departure. Service ends.
