How to Get to Wuding County from Chuxiong City

Feilaisi is located in the Hengduan Mountains approximately 10 km southwest of Deqin (Deqen) in the far northwest of the Yunnan Province in southwest China. It is nestled high above the Mekong valley at an altitude of 3,300 meters on the road to Lhasa. It is about 170 kilometers from Shangrila to Feilaisi which can be reached by shuttle bus and chartered car.

How to Travel to Feilaisi from Shangri-La City?

At Shangrila Bus Station, there are 4 buses running from Shangrila Bus Station to Deqin County at the cost of CNY 68, which departs at 08:20, 09:20, 10:30, 12:00. Located near major tourist attractions, Shangri La Bus Station is a small while very busy station. Buses from Lijiang, Dali, Kunming and etc are all terminates here. Meanwhile, people would have to gather here to catch buses to leave Shangri La.

After arrived at Deqin, continue to take another bus running to Feilaisi for 20 minutes, which coast about CNY 5-10.

There are about 13 shuttle buses departing from Shangrila Bus Station to Lijiang at 08:00, 08:30, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:40, 11:20, 12:10, 13:00, 14:00, 14:30, 15:00, 16:00. The cost ranges from CNY 62-68.

Cizhong Village is an administrative village in Yanmen Township, Deqin County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is about 80km from Deqin County of Diqing prefecture. If you are from some big cities, such as Beijing and Guangzhou, it is recommended to fly to Shangri-La and then transfer from Shangri-La to Deqin. How to Get to Cizhong Village from Shangri-La City?

By Bus

For the tourists who want to visit Cizhong village, you need to take the bus from Shangri-La to Deqin County and then transfer to Cizhong village. Deqin county is 183 kilometers away from Shangrila city. Bus is the main means of transportation for locals and tourists to get around in Shangrila. There are 5 regular buses running from Shangri-La to Deqin County every day with the fare of 68 CNY and duration of 5 hours, which departs at 8:20, 9:20, 10:30, 12:30 and 14:30. There are also minivans at the bus station that leave when they are full (the drivers are shouting “Deqin, Deqin!” to passers by). It’s 100 yuan per person. The minivans are a bit faster than the bus.

It is convenient to go to Cizhong from Deqin County. Every day, there are many shuttle buses to Cizhong from Deqin County. The last bus from Deqin to Cizhong is 3 p.m. It takes less than 2 hours from Deqin to Cizhong. Tourists can take the bus from Deqin to Badong, Cizhong Bridge or Weixin(via Yanmen). Except the buses from Deqin to Badong, you shall take another 20 minutes to get to Cizhong by walking.

Yubeng is a tiny Tibetan village in Northern Yunnan that might just be the most stunning place in Asia. Snow covered peaks surround lush green valleys filled with birds, butterflies, flowers and prayer flags. Situated in the back of Meili Snow Mountain, it has a unique geographical environment with only 20 households and one way access to the outside world. It’s more than 200 kilometers from Shangrila to Yubeng village which can only be accessible by bus and car-rental.

How to Get to Yubeng Village from Shangrila?

Shangrila-Deqin-Xidang Hot Spring

You can take a long-distance bus to Deqin County from Shangri-La. Deqin county is 183 kilometers away from Shangrila city. Bus is the main means of transportation for locals and tourists to get around in Shangrila. There are 5 regular buses running from Shangri-La to Deqin County every day with the fare of 68 CNY and duration of 5 hours, which departs at 8:20, 9:20, 10:30, 12:30 and 14:30. After you arrive at Deqin County, you can take a long-distance bus at 07:00 or 15:00 pm to Xidang Village or you may rent a car to get there. It is 8 kilometers from Xidang Village to Xidang Hot Springs. Yubeng Village is only accessible from Xidang Hot Springs by walking or riding a horse. It takes you five to six hours to get to Yubeng Village on foot.

Shangrila-Deqin-Feilaisi-Xidang Hot Spring

From Deqin, it is easy to get a taxi to Feilaisi (20 minutes) where you can find a guesthouse and make further arrangements to get to the start of the hike in Xidang Village the next day. Sometimes, the bus from Shangri-la to Deqin will continue to Feilaisi for an additional 5 CNY.

From Feilaisi, there are minivans leaving every morning for 150RMB (for a full minivan, which usually seats 7) to Xidang hot springs, which is the starting point of the trek to Yubeng. There is also a public bus leaving to Xidang hot springs at 8 am from the gate of viewing platform, for 20RMB per person.

Transportation in Yunnan:

Baishuitai is located in Baidi Village, Sanba Township, southeast of Shangri-La City. It is 101 kilometers away from Shangri-La and and 2,380 meters above sea level. Tiger Leaping Gorge is another highlight in Yunnan travel. For tourists who want to get to Baishuitai from Tiger Leaping Gorge, you can take a bus or car-rental.

How to Get to Baishuitai from Tiger Leaping Gorge?

By Bus

There is a daily bus running between Tiger Leaping Gorge and Baishuitai at a price of 55 RMB. It departs at 12:00. Tickets can be purchased at Tina’s Guest House or Tibet Guest House.

From Middle Gorge, you can flag down a van going East (Further down the gorge) and ask to go to Baishuitai (40–50 RMB). If there are lots of cars you can try hitchhiking as well. Or arrange a car with your hostel.

Cizhong Village is an administrative village in Yanmen Township, Deqin County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is about 80km from Deqin County and 110km from Weixi County. The transportation between Weixi County and Cizhong Village is not convenient and car-rental is the best travelling way.

How to Get to Cizhong Village from Weixi County?

By Bus

There is only one shuttle bus departing from the county seat of Weixin in the forenoon, via Baijixun(白济汛), Kangpu(康普), Yezhi(叶枝), Badi(巴迪), Cizhong Bridge(茨中桥), Yanmen(燕门), Yunling(云岭). Tourists can get off at the Cizhong Bridge and then walk about 20 minutes to Cizhong village.
