Shangri-La - Shigu Town Transportation: By Bus & Car-rental

Shigu Town is one of the famous ancient town at the river bank of the upper reaches of Yangtze River. As there is a drum-shaped stone tablet carved with white marble, hence the name of the town. On the date at the end 3, 6, and 9, there will be fair market, and people from the surrounding villages will come to market, which is a good place to feel the local life. From Shangrila to Shigu Town, tourists can take the shuttle buses or rent a car to.

How to Get to Shigu Town from Shangri-La?

By Bus

At Shangrila Bus Station, tourists can take the shuttle bus running to Lijiang and get off at the junction roads from Lijiang to Shigu Town. Then take another shuttle bus from Lijiang to Shigu town, Judian Town or Weixi County. There are about 13 shuttle buses departing from Shangrila Bus Station to Lijiang at 08:00, 08:30, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:40, 11:20, 12:10, 13:00, 14:00, 14:30, 15:00, 16:00.

Add: the junction of Xiangbala Avenue and Kangding Road, Shangri-La, Diqing
Transport:
15 minutes to Ganden Sumtseling Monastery;
40 minutes to Pudacuo National Park;
15 minutes to Dukezong Ancient Town;
15 minutes to Napa Nature Preserve;
20 minutes to Shangri-La Airport.

By Car-rental

Renting a car to Shigu Town is more convenient since you can decide your traveling time as you like. It is suitable for a flexible and comfortable way. It is better for you to rent a car with an experienced driver and a tour guide if you are foreign travelers. The driver of chartering car can stop for you to enjoy the scenery and take photos.
