By Bus

Tacheng Town is nearly 120 kilometers away from Shangri-La, and there is just one direct long-distance bus from Shangri-La to Tacheng Town and it runs at 9:30 am. You can take a bus from Shangri-La Bus Station(香格里拉客运站) to Weixi County and get off the long-distance bus at the stop in Tacheng Town. The bus runs every one hour from 8:00 to 12:00 for the fee of 46 yuan.

How to Get to Shuangbai County from Chuxiong City

Being around 250 kilometers away from Kunming（昆明）, the County of Shiping（石屏县） covers a total area of 3,037 square kilometers, which is located in southern Yunnan and northwestern Honghe Prefecture（红河州）. It borders on Jianshui County（建水县） in the east, Honghe County（红河县） in the south, Yuanjiang County（元江县） and Xinping County（新平县） in the west, Tonghai County and（通海县） Eshan County（峨山县） in the north. In 2014, it’s got 7 villages and 2 towns under its jurisdiction. Besides, a total of 94.6% of its terrain resides on the mountains, which made it a typical agriculture county. How to Get to Shaxi Old Town from Shangri-La City?

By Bus

There are no direct buses to Shaxi from Shangrila. Tourists can take any of the buses going to Dali and get off in Jianchuan. When you arrive in Jianchuan, take the mini-bus just outside of Jianchuan Bus Station(剑川客运站) that take about 45 minutes to reach Shaxi. The bus departs from Jianchuan whenever it is semi-full with passengers. Try not to arrive in Jianchuan too late in the evening or else there may not be enough passengers to fill up a bus to Shaxi. It should also be possible to catch a mini-bus at the junction for Shaxi (Diannan), 8km south of Jianchuan.

Yubeng Village is known for the beautiful valley it lies in and beautiful day treks which depart from it. Under the extraordinary craftsman by nature, it is called the miniature version of the real Shangri-La. One can only get there by trekking or mule-riding for 18 kilometers, and crossing over a pass of 3700 m. It’s about 850 kilometers away from the provincial capital Kunming.

How to Get to Yubeng Village from Kunming?

By Air

If you want to save time, you can take the flight from Kunming to Shangrila and then transfer to Yubeng village. There are four buses departing from Shangri-la Bus Station(香格里拉汽车客运站) to Deqin at 08:20, 09:20, 10:30, 12:00 every day. After Deqin arrival, take another 1.5 hours’ ride or rent a minivan to Xidang Village. There are only two buses departing at 07:00 and 15:00.

Around 5.4 km from the city center, Diqing Airport is the largest airport in the east Tibetan area. Direct flights to/from several domestic cities are available, including Kunming, Chengdu, Lhasa, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Beijing and Shanghai. As it is close to the downtown area, tourists usually take a taxi to the airport.

By Coach

Take the only long-distance bus that departs at 19:00 every day from Kunming West Bus Station(昆明西部客运站) to Deqin Bus Station(德钦客运站). The journey takes around 24 hours and the fare is CNY 284. After arriving in Deqin County, you can take a bus to the Xidang Village that leaves at 07:00 and 15:00 every day or rent a local car.

By Train

At present, there is no railway connecting Deqin with Kunming. The Yunnan-Tibet Railway under planning stretches to Lhasa in Tibet from Kunming in Yunnan Province. After the completion of Yunnan-Tibet Railway, it’s more convenient for tourists traveling from Kunming to Deqin County.

How to Get to Yubeng Village from Feilaisi?

From Feilaisi, there are minivans leaving every morning for 150RMB (for a full minivan, usually seats 7) to Xidang hot spring, which is the starting point of the trek to Yubeng village. There is also a public bus leaving to Xidang hot springs at 8 am from the gate of Feilaisi viewing platform.

How to Get to Yubeng Village from Deqin County?

It is about 43 km from Deqin county to Yubeng Village. There are only two buses departing from Deqin Bus Station(德钦客运站) at 07:00 and 15:00. Tourists can also rent a minivan getting there at the cost of about CNY 200. The journey will take about 1.5 hours.
