History
Funing County was under the administration of Gouding County in the ancient time. It was a part of Zangke Prefecture in West Han Dynasty. After the establishment of the People's Republic of China, it still was called as Funing County since it was entitled as Funing in 1927. Funing County was administrated by Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in 1958.

Funing County is located in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. Funing County is located on the southeast of Yunnan Province, bordering on Miaowang and Tongwen County of Vietnam, adjacent to Youjiang, Xilin, Tianlin, Napo and Jingxing county in Guangxi, connecting to Guangnan County and Malipo Counry in the West. Mountainous area accounts for 96% of total land area, paralleled with plateaus, mountains, hills, basins. Among them, plateaus distribute in the southwest, mountains distribute in the mid and north area.
