Diqing Tibetan autonomous prefecture is one of the eight autonomous prefectures in Yunnan province, and Diqing prefecture government is stationed in Shangri-la. It means “an auspicious place” in Tibetan language. Diqing is a glorious place, with dense forests, alpine lakes, grasslands, and gorges distributed among the meadows and plains. During Diqing travel, you can enjoy the most beautiful lakes like Bita lake, Napahai lake, Heihai lake and Shudu Lake, as well the visit the most magnificiant gorges and canyons like Tiger Leaping Gorge and Lancang River Grand Canyon. Transportation
Transportation The special geographical location makes Diqing transportation different from other parts of China. At present, there are no trains in Diqing. Flights in the Diqing Shangri-la airport are also relatively limited. Therefore, road traffic is the most important mode of transportation in Diqing.
