Kunming East Railway Station

Kunming East Railway Station (昆明东站), located in Kunming city, Yunnan province, China, is a first-class station under the jurisdiction of Kunming Group Co., LTD., China Railway Administration. It is the heart of the railway hub of Yunnan, the intersection of the three main railway lines of Shanghai-Kunming, Nanjing-Kunming and Chengdu-Kunming, as well as the main distribution center of materials in and out of Yunnan. The station was built in 1958.

Flow of FreightIn 2012, Kunming east railway station sent 8.45 million tons of materials and received and unloaded more than 19 million tons. Most of the materials sent and unloaded were in and out of the province, including rice, refined oil, rubber, fruits and vegetables, coal and other materials for people’s livelihood, as well as a small amount of disaster relief materials. On January 1, 2013, Kunming east railway station got off to a good start, with 9,442 vehicles handled in one day, which hit a record high.
