Zhaotong Municipal Children Welfare Institute

Children’s Welfare Institute of Zhaoyang District, Zhaotong City, was established on June 23, 1998, as a fully funded public institution under the Zhaoyang District Civil Affairs Bureau. It is primarily responsible for the adoption and care of abandoned infants and orphaned disabled children. Since its establishment, the institute has adopted a total of 198 homeless orphaned disabled children, focusing on orphans, abandoned infants, and children abducted and trafficked in society. The institute undertakes tasks such as medical care, rehabilitation, education, and special education.

Located in the Fengyuan community of Longquan Street, Zhaoyang District, the Children’s Welfare Institute has been operational since May 2013. Guided by the principle of “helping every disabled orphan return to society and to a family, and giving back, being grateful, and contributing to society,” the institute is committed to the physical and mental health development of every orphaned disabled child. Currently, the institute covers an area of 5,000 square meters with a designed capacity of 150 beds, housing 100 children across 4 departments and 1 rehabilitation center. With support from various levels of party committees, governments, and the community, the children in the institute receive effective medical treatment and psychological support, promoting their well-being and positive development.
