How to Get to Baoshan Stone Town from Lijiang

This article introduces the way to get to Baoshan Stone Town(宝山石头城) from Lijiang. Baoshan Stone Town is a Village with real natural barrier, with the cliffs surrounding on three sides, and Jinsha River Protecting the fourth side; it is just two stone doors in the north and south available for access.

How to Get to Baoshan Stone Town from Lijiang?

There are three ways to get to Baoshan Stone Town from Lijiang which are by bus, private car rental and boat. Taking boat may be a very interesting option to enjoy the scenery along the Jinsha River.

By Bus

There is a bus running from Lijiang to Baoshan Stone Town at 6:00a.m. It departs at the  junction of three roads in Xinda Street. However, it only arrive on the Baoshan Town Government. You need to walk 3 hours to get to Baoshan Stone Town. The bus which departing from Baoshan Bus Station to Lijiang at 11:00a.m.

By Private Car Rental

By Private Car Rental +Boat

If you want to enjoy the scenery in Jinsha River. You can drive to Ahai Wharf(阿海码头), then transfer to Baoshan Stone Town Wharf by boat(宝山石头城码头). Because Stone Town is on the precipice on the Jinsha River. After getting the Baoshan Stone Wharf, you need to climb to the top of the Baoshan Stone Town.

Tips

• You will pass the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area, and need to pay for the tickets when you get to Baoshan Stone Town from Lijiang. It costs CNY130. When you come back to Lijiang from Baoshan Stone Town, you do not need to pay it again.
