Hongdian Hui Ethnic Township (红甸回族乡) is located in the northern part of Wenshan City (文山市), Yunnan Province (云南省). It borders Binglie Township (秉烈乡) to the east, Matang Town (马塘镇) to the south, Dehou Town (德厚镇) to the west, and Jiayi Town (稼依镇) of Yanshan County (砚山县) to the north. The township government is stationed at Hongdian Street (红甸街), approximately 50 km from downtown Wenshan (文山市) and 13.1 km from National Highway 323 (Yanping Expressway) (323国道/砚平高速).

Cultural History

Hongdian Hui Ethnic Township (红甸回族乡) has a long history. During the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to the Wangnong Chiefdom (王弄长官司). In the Qing Dynasty, it was part of Lelongli (乐龙里), and in the early Republic of China period, it was under the Waibei District (外北区). In 1950, it became part of the Fourth District, was merged into Qianfeng Commune (前锋公社) in 1958, established as Hongdian Commune (红甸公社) in 1966, renamed Hongdian District (红甸区) in 1984, and officially designated as Hongdian Hui Ethnic Township (红甸回族乡) in 1987.
