What to Wear for a November Lijiang Travel

The climate is cold in Lijiang in November, so it is necessary for travelers to take some warm clothes, such as suits, lined clothes, wind coats, jackets, light sweaters and hoodies. If they have any travelling plan at night, they should wear heavy overcoats, like anoraks, parka, fleece lined or cotton-padded clothes.

Places to Visit in November Lijiang

  • Shuhe Ancient Town:
    In such a peaceful season, it is recommended to visit the Shuhe Ancient Town. The serenity and slow-pace living style here make it a special and valuable town. Being one of the oldest settlements of ancient Naxi people and an important pass on the Ancient Tea Horse Road, it remained unknown until Joseph Rock, an American adventurer, came to the town and uncovered it to the world.   • Yuhu Village:
    Visiting Yuhu Village is also a good choice. The tranquil village is situated in the foothills of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. In autumn, the meadows around turn yellow and the reeds sway in the wind, looking like yellow waves from a distance.
  • Lijiang Ancient town
    On a sunny afternoon, it’s also enjoyable to drink a cup of tea in Lijiang Old Town, ramble around the Sifang Street, and participate in the entertainment of local people in Tingyin Square.
  • Stone Drum Town:
    Shigu Ancient Town is one of the famous ancient town at the river bank of the upper reaches of Yangtze River. As there is a drum-shaped stone tablet carved with white marble, hence the name of the town. The diameter of the stone tablet is 1.5 m and the thickness is 0.7 m. It is said that if the society is unrest, the drum will craze, but when the society is peaceful again, the drum will close up.
  • Jade Dragon Snow Mountain:
    This is a place to go for a refreshing change from the sweltering summer in eastern and southern China. The mountain is only half an hour from Lijiang, and you can go up to the snowy peaks on a scenic tram. From the tram, you have the option of climbing the stairway up to the observation point at 4,636 meters (15,210 feet). The highlight there is a small glacier. It is a place to see beautiful mountain scenery and snow. Be prepared for a hard climb.
  • The Dongba Museum: 
    A place to go to learn about these people is a little museum in Jade Spring Park right next to the Black Dragon Pool. The pool is a Lijiang landmark, and there is a small hill there you can climb to look around at the scenery. The museum itself is free to visit, and there is a Naxi souvenir jewelry store.
