Feilaisi is located in the Hengduan Mountains approximately 10 km southwest of Deqin (Deqen) in the far northwest of the Yunnan Province in southwest China. Feilai Si (Feilaisi or Fei Lai Si) is nestled high above the Mekong valley at an altitude of 3,300 meters on the road to Lhasa.
From Kunming to Diqing
There are more than 6 flights per day from Kunming Changshui International Airport to Diqing Airport, and the flight duration is 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Note: There are no flights to Feilaisi Temple, so visitors must arrive in Diqing first, then transfer to Feilaisi Temple. It is convenient to tranfer to Deqin County.
By Long-distance Bus
1. From Kunming to Feilaisi
From Kunming to Deqin, there are only long-distance buses. It takes about 15 hours and the fare is about 220 yuan (for reference only). If you do not want to spend so much time on the way, you can go to Shangri-La, then transfer to Deqin County (the bus fare is about 70 yuan, and the journey takes about 6 hours). You can also go to Shangri-La. Go to the Tiger Leaping Gorge... When you arriving at Deqin County, charter a car to Feilaisi Temple, which only needs 30 yuan (about 20 minutes).
2. From Dali to Feilaisi
If select a long-distance bus, it is recommended to transfer to Shangri-La, which takes about 5 hours, and then there are many long-distance buses from Shangri-La to Deqin County, which takes 6-7 hours. Then charter a car to Feilaisi Temple (about 20 minutes).
3. From Lijiang to Feilaisi
Lijiang has opened the shuttle buses from Lijiang to Deqin County at 8: 20 a.m. per day, with fewer flights, which takes around 10 hours. Then, charter a car or take a taxi to Feilaisi Temple at the price of 30 yuan (about 20 minutes).
Rent a car or a minibus around Deqin Bus Station. Renting a car is suitable for a flexible and comfortable way. If there are enough people, it is better for you to rent a car to share the expense. It just takes around 15 minutes to get there for the fee of 30 yuan (the prices are for your reference).
