Yunnan Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine

Yunnan Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine (云南省中医医院), also known as the First Affiliated Hospital of Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (云南中医药大学第一附属医院), was established in 1947. The hospital has two campuses: the Guanghua Campus (光华院区) located at 120 Guanghua Street (光华街120号), and the Dianchi Campus (滇池院区) located at 1 Huachen Road, Dianchi Resort Area (滇池度假区华晨路1号) in Kunming (昆明市), Yunnan Province (云南省).

This hospital is a tertiary grade A Chinese medicine hospital (三级甲等中医医院) and is a designated hospital for Yunnan Province’s medical insurance (医保定点医院). It offers a wide range of clinical services and specializes in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatments.

• 1947: The hospital was founded as the Yunnan University Medical School Affiliated Hospital (云南大学医学院附设医院分院).

• 1950: The hospital merged with Ganmei Hospital (甘美医院).

• 1955: The Yunnan Provincial People’s Committee approved the establishment of Yunnan Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital (云南省中医院).

• 1960: The hospital was placed under the management of Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (云南中医学院) and renamed to Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated Hospital (云南中医学院附属医院).

• 1994: The hospital became a Grade A Tertiary Chinese Medicine Hospital (三级甲等中医医院).

• 2002: The hospital was renamed First Affiliated Hospital of Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

• 2003: The hospital became the Head Hospital of the Yunnan Traditional Chinese Medicine Medical Group (云南省中医医疗集团).

• 2015: The Dianchi Campus (滇池院区) Phase 1 was completed and opened.

• 2018: The hospital was selected as a second batch of National Clinical Research Bases for Traditional Chinese Medicine (国家中医临床研究基地).

• 2023: Signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture People’s Government (楚雄彝族自治州人民政府).

• 2025: Signed a clinical training agreement with the Swedish Acupuncture Academy (瑞典针灸学院).
