At the end of 2016, Jingdong Yi Autonomous County was home to 26 ethnic groups, including Han, Yi, Hani, Yao, Dai and Hui. Therefore, the food is diverse.

1. Cold Golden Flowers Dish in Sauce(凉拌金花)

About 10 days before the pigs are killed, golden rape flowers are collected. After cleaning, mix with salt, pepper, Chinese red pepper and other seasonings, and marinate them in the jar. This method can preserve the delicate fragrance of rape flowers. When the guests are invited to the banquet, the pigskins are cleaned and boiled in the water. After being fished out, they are cut into small strips, and then the pork liver and lean meat are cooked and chopped, and then mixed with the pigskins into the rape flowers.

2. Dunbao Meat(墩包肉)

The Dunbao Meat is one of the eight bowls of the Wuliangshan Yi people. When the masses of the mountain Yi people are killing the pigs or doing joyous occasions, they eat red Dunbao meat and eat white Dunbao meat when they are doing funeral affairs.

3. Wuliangshan Ham Papaya Chicken(无量山火腿木瓜鸡)

Wuliangshan Ham Papaya Chicken is a dish, whose main ingredients are Wuliangshan ham, Wuliangshan silkie and Jingdong acid papaya, and the acid papaya has the effect of wind-dampness-eliminating.

4. Wuliangshan Silkie(无量山乌骨鸡)

The Silkie (sometimes alternatively spelled Silky) is a breed of chicken named for its atypically fluffy plumage, which is said to feel like silk. The breed has several other unusual qualities, such as black skin and bones, blue earlobes, and five toes on each foot, whereas most chickens only have four. They are often exhibited in poultry shows, and appear in various colors. In addition to their distinctive physical characteristics, Silkies are well known for their calm, friendly temperament. Among the most docile of poultry, Silkies are considered an ideal pet. Hens are also exceptionally broody, and make good mothers. Though they are fair layers themselves, laying about three eggs a week, they are commonly used to hatch eggs from other breeds and bird species.

5. Eight Bowls of Yi(彝族八大碗)

Eight is a very important number to the Yi people, as it is to most Chinese. At ordinary feasts, they serve eight bowls of different meat dishes, and call them 'The Eight Bowls.' After eating them, guests are entertained with 'Eight Steps Tea,' which is a singing and dancing presentation of this beverage. And, their banquets are called Three-Eights. These huge meals can have as many at one hundred twenty-four dishes; and at them, there is considerable liquor consumption.

6. Braising a Fsh with Sour Bamboo Shoot(酸笋烩鱼)

Braising a fish with sour bamboo shoot is a popular dish in Simao District, which is characterized by sour and spicy. The method is to remove the fish scale and remove the internal organs and then fry the fish with the color of golden yellow, then put the fried sour bamboo into the water. After boiling, put the fish and add the onion, ginger, pepper, Sichuan pepper, aginomoto and other condiments. Finally, a delicious fish is finished.
