‣History
In 1949, it was Wu District. In 1958, it was renamed Lapu Commune. In 1962, it was changed to The Fifth District. In 1969, it was renamed Weidong Commune. In 1972, it was changed to Tacheng Commune. In 1984, it was changed to Tacheng District. In 1988, it was changed to Tacheng township. In 2002, Tacheng Township was changed as Tacheng Town.
