In March 2011, Yuxing Road Subdistrict was renamed Yuxing Subdistrict.
Yuxing Subdistrict (玉兴街道) is home to a multi-ethnic population, primarily Han people, with significant Yi (彝族) and Hui (回族) communities. Many traditional customs are still preserved, such as the Yi Torch Festival and traditional Hui celebrations. These festivals are usually accompanied by vibrant performances and local ethnic cuisines, offering an excellent opportunity to experience the region’s folk culture.
Hongta District (红塔区) features a mid-subtropical semi-humid plateau monsoon climate, with mild winters and cool summers. The best time to visit is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the weather is most pleasant and the scenery is beautiful.
Nie Er Former Residence (聂耳故居)
Located at No. 3 Beimeng Street, Hehuachi Community (荷花池社区), this residence was home to generations of Nie Er’s family and holds significant historical value.

Zheng Family Residence (郑氏故居)
Located at No. 35 Qiyang Road (棋阳路), this is a classic example of traditional Yunnan residential architecture, valued for its historical and artistic merit.

Yuhu Community (玉湖社区)
Named after the Yuhu Lake within its jurisdiction, this area is part of the main urban zone and offers a chance to experience modern city life.

Public Transport
Buses from the city center of Yuxi (玉溪市) can take you directly to Yuxing Subdistrict (玉兴街道) in about 20 minutes.
Self-driving
Navigate via main city roads to the Yuxing Subdistrict Office (No. 55 Yuxing Road 玉兴路55号); travel time is approximately 15 minutes.

Try local specialties such as rice noodles (米线) and erkuai (饵块), which are known for their rich textures and savory flavors.
