The predecessor of Haba Snow Mountain International Youth Hostel is the well-known “Haba Snow Mountain Inn”, which is located at the foot of Haba Snow Mountain in Sanba Town, Haba village, Shangri La County. In 1986, Haba Snow Mountain Inn opened. In 1996, my little brother-in-law “Yang Xiaoming” and I first climbed the top of Haba mountain. Since then, the folk climbing of Haba Snow Mountain has been open.

(This Information from the boss of Haba Snow Mountain Hostel)My wife Yang Xiulan, daughter A Fen, little cousin and any others climbed the peak of 5396 meters of the Haba Snow Mountain , which are called the first warriors to climb the Haba Snow Mountain by the local people. Almost all the last four numbers of the telephones in the hostel use the altitude figure “5396” of Haba to express our love for Haba Snow Mountain.

Since its opening, the hostel has successfully led nearly 1000 mountaineers to the top of Haba Snow Mountain, and there has never been an accident of casualties. All these benefit from rich mountaineering experience and strict mountaineering safety principles. In May 2008, Haba Snow Mountain Inn officially joined the International Youth Hostel alliance, renamed as “Haba Snow Mountain International Youth Hostel”, and became one of the most capable hostels in the alliance.

Tinas International Youth Hostel or Tina’s Guesthouse (Zhongxia Hotel on Google Map/虎跳峡中峡旅店 in Chinese) is located at the central part of the famous Tiger Leaping Gorge, a famous hostel recommended by the Lonely Planet Guide for the international backpackers and leisure travelers who would like to go for a hiking or know more about Shangri-la and the Tiger Leaping Gorge which is one of the top 10 most famous hiking routes in China. It’s the biggest and the best hostel in this area for backpackers mainly from abroad.
The hostel is a friendly and convenient place to spend your night. A good detour from here leads down 40 mins to the middle rapids, Yixiantian( ray of sunshine) and Middle Tiger Leaping Stone where a tiger is once said to have leapt across the river, thus giving the gorge its name.
