It spans from 102°47′09″ to 102°57′20″ east longitude and 24°30′30″ to 24°46′18″ north latitude. Yousuo Town (右所镇) has a long and rich history. During the fifth year of the Longqing reign in the Ming Dynasty (1571), the region was part of the Wuwei defense system and named “Yousuo” after the Right Garrison. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the area was known as Qingpingli (清平里). During the Republic of China period, its administrative name changed several times. In March 1950, it was established as Dingqing District (鼎清区), changed to Yousuo Township (右所乡) in January 1988, and became Yousuo Town (右所镇) in October 1997.
Yousuo Town (右所镇) is known for its vibrant folk culture, most notably the Yi ethnic group’s “Left-Foot Dance” (左脚舞), which has a history of over 1,000 years. Yangzong Town (阳宗镇) is located in the northern part of Chengjiang City (澄江市), Yuxi City (玉溪市), Yunnan Province (云南省), at the northern foot of Liangwang Mountain (梁王山), the highest peak in central Yunnan. It is the northernmost area of Yuxi. To the east, it borders Caodian (草甸) in Yiliang County (宜良县), Kunming City (昆明市); to the south, it connects with Longjie Subdistrict (龙街街道) and Jiucun Town (九村镇); to the west, it is adjacent to Wujiaying (吴家营) and Qidian (七甸) in Chenggong District (呈贡区), Kunming City (昆明市); and to the north, it faces Yangzong Lake (阳宗海). Yangzong Town (阳宗镇) has a long history. It was formerly known as “Qiangzong” (强宗), which later evolved phonetically into “Yangzong” (阳宗). During the Han Dynasty, this area was part of Yuyuan County (俞元县) under eastern Yunnan. In the Nanzhao Kingdom during the Tang Dynasty, it was governed by Heyang Prefecture (河阳郡). In 937, during the Dali Kingdom, it was one of the 37 administrative divisions in eastern Yunnan, known as the “Qiangzong Division” (强宗部). In 1276, during the Yuan Dynasty, Chengjiang Road (澄江路) was established with Qiangzong County (强宗县) under its jurisdiction. In 1669, during the Qing Dynasty, Yangzong County (阳宗县) was abolished and merged into Heyang County (河阳县). During the Republic of China period, Yangzong belonged to the Fourth District of Chengjiang County (澄江县). Yangzong Town (阳宗镇) was officially established in January 1988.

Xiongguan Township (雄关乡) is located in the eastern part of Jiangchuan District (江川区), Yuxi City (玉溪市), Yunnan Province (云南省). It borders Huaning County (华宁县) to the east, Tonghai County (通海县) to the south, Dajie Subdistrict (大街街道) to the west, and Lujü Town (路居镇) to the north. The township government is located in Xiongguan Village (雄关村), about 12 kilometers from Jiangchuan’s downtown area. The Jianghua Expressway (江华高等级公路) passes through the township, and the Dianxiong Cement Road (甸雄水泥公路) runs north-south through it.
Xiongguan Township (雄关乡) has a long history. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the area belonged to Lujü Township (路居乡) of Ningzhou (宁州), present-day Huaning County (华宁县). In 1912, it became part of the Xiongguan Bao (雄关保) under Lujü Township (路居乡). In September 1950, it was part of the third district of Huaning County. In January 1956, Xiongguan and surrounding areas were reassigned to Jiangchuan County (江川县). In 1966, Xiongguan People’s Commune (雄关公社) was established. It was renamed Xiongguan District (雄关区) in December 1983 and finally became Xiongguan Township (雄关乡) in 1987. The name originates from its former name Dianjuguan (甸苴关), also known locally as Diansuo Dam (甸所坝), a strategic mountain pass on the eastern slope of Laojian Mountain (老尖山).

Luju Town (路居镇) is located in the northeastern part of Jiangchuan District (江川区), Yuxi City (玉溪市), Yunnan Province (云南省), about 15 kilometers from the Jiangchuan urban area. It borders Huanning County (华宁县) to the east, neighbors Dajie Subdistrict (大街街道) and Xiongguan Township (雄关乡) to the south, faces Xingyun Lake (星云湖) to the west, and adjoins Jiangcheng Town (江城镇) to the north, across Fuxian Lake (抚仙湖) from Chengjiang County (澄江县). The town government is located at No. 70-13, Dianxin Resident Group, Xiaojiezi, Zhongba Community (中坝社区小街子甸心居民小组70号附13号).
Luju Town (路居镇) has a long history. The name “Luju” was already in use by the 13th year of Emperor Zhengde’s reign (1518) in the Ming Dynasty. During the Republic of China period, it was part of Luju Township or the Third District Longfeng Township (龙风乡) of Huanning County (华宁县). In 1950, it became Xionglong Township (雄龙乡) under Huanning County. In 1956, it was reassigned to Jiangchuan County (江川县) as the Sixth District. In 1958, it was known as Luju Commune (路居公社), changed to Luju District (路居区) in 1983, then Luju Township (路居乡) in 1987, and finally Luju Town (路居镇) in January 1998. The name “Luju” originates from the Yi (彝族) language: “Lu” means “stone,” and “Ju” means “to take or strike,” referring to a place known for quarrying stones.
Luju Town is home to several ethnic minority groups, including Yi (彝族), Hani (哈尼族), and Dai (傣族), who make up 5.8% of the total population. Local customs are rich and colorful, with festivals such as the Torch Festival (火把节) celebrated by the Yi people, showcasing the area’s unique ethnic traditions.
Located on a low-latitude plateau, Luju Town experiences alternating atmospheric currents in winter and summer, with a significant monsoon influence. Jiuxi Town (九溪镇) is located in the southwestern part of Jiangchuan District (江川区), Yuxi City (玉溪市), Yunnan Province (云南省). It borders Xingyun Subdistrict (星云街道) to the east, Tonghai County (通海县) to the south, Hongta District (红塔区) to the west, and Qianwei Town (前卫镇) and Anhua Yi Ethnic Township (安化彝族乡) to the north. The town government is located 12 kilometers from the Jiangchuan urban area and 10 kilometers from the Yuxi urban area, making it a key transportation hub connecting Yuxi and Jiangchuan.
Jiuxi Town (九溪镇) has a long history. During the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Pumiao Township (普庙乡). During the Republic of China era, the administrative divisions changed several times, and in 1937, it was renamed Jiuxi Town. The name “Jiuxi” refers to the nine streams (溪) that flow through the area. Formerly an important agricultural production area, Jiuxi is now known throughout the province for its mushroom, beef, and lamb-based cuisine.
Jiuxi Town (九溪镇) is home to ethnic minorities including the Yi people (彝族), who have preserved a rich cultural heritage and traditional customs, such as the Torch Festival (火把节).
