Baohe Town has a long history. It began to be governed in the 14th year of the Yuan Dynasty’s reign of Zhiyuan (1277), when Linxi County was established. In the sixth year of the Qing Dynasty’s reign of Yongzheng (1728), the first prefect decided to build city walls here, making it the seat of Weixi Prefecture. In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the prefecture was changed to a county, and this place became the county seat, known as the urban area. In 1953, it was renamed Baohe Town. During the Cultural Revolution, it was once renamed Hongqi Town. In 1975, it was changed from being under the jurisdiction of Yongchun Commune to being under the county’s jurisdiction, and a district-level Baohe Town Commune was established.

Ye Zhi Town has a long history. In 801 AD, during the reign of Emperor Dezong of the Tang Dynasty (贞元十七年), Ye Zhi was one of the five cities where the Tibetan army was stationed. During the Qing Dynasty, the area belonged to the Kangye region. In the years of the Republic of China, Ye Zhi District and Township were established successively, and it was also once named the Third District. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it was long called the Fourth District and was renamed Shàngyóu (上游) and Mǎnjiānghóng (满江红) Commune during the commune movement. In 1988, it was established as a township. In 2003, the township was upgraded to a town, known as Ye Zhi Town. Baijixun Township （白济讯乡）is located in the northwest of Weixi Lisu Autonomous County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is bordered by Pantiange Township to the east, Zhonglu Township to the south, and Kangpu Township to the north. To the west, it is adjacent to Maji and Lishadi Townships of Fugong County along the Biluoshan Mountain. The township covers an area of 593 square kilometers. The terrain is characterized by mountains and valleys, with the Lancang River running through the township from south to north.
History
Baijixun Township has a long history. In the Qing Dynasty, the area belonged to the “Lincheng and along the river” group of the five major stocks. During the Republic of China period, it was successively established as Gongji District and Township, and was also commonly referred to as the Second District. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it was set up as a district, commonly known as the Third District. During the commune period, communes named “Hongqi,” “Wuqi,” and “Baijixun” were successively established.
Folklore
Baijixun Township is a multi-ethnic settlement, home to various ethnic groups including Lisu, Naxi, Bai, Yi, Nu, and Han. The township is known for its rich ethnic cultures and traditional customs. For example, the Naxi ethnic group has its own traditional costumes, while the Lisu ethnic group is known for its Azhi Muge singing and dancing. The township also hosts various festivals such as the Kuoshe Festival and Harvest Festival.
