Kunming First People’s Hospital (North)-Ganmei Hospital
Kunming First People’s Hospital, originally known as Gannei Hospital (甘美医院), was founded in 1914 by French missionaries. It later merged with a police hospital founded by Zhu De (朱德), the then Director of the Yunnan Police Department. In 1963, the hospital was officially renamed “Kunming First People’s Hospital.” After nearly a century of growth and development, the hospital has evolved into a large, comprehensive tertiary hospital offering services in medical care, education, research, prevention, and health management.
