Xiaohuangtian Village (小荒田村) is located in Lishan Yi Ethnic Township (里山彝族乡), Tonghai County (通海县), Yuxi City (玉溪市), Yunnan Province (云南省). It lies in the eastern part of Lishan Township, about 12 kilometers from the township government seat and approximately 17 kilometers from Tonghai County’s downtown. The village covers a total land area of 3,197.4 mu (about 2.13 km²), sits at an elevation of 1,980 meters, and has an average annual temperature of 14.7°C.
History and Culture
Xiaohuangtian Village (小荒田村) has a long-standing historical heritage. In December 2016, it was included in the fourth batch of Traditional Chinese Villages. Before 1949, it belonged to Nanping Township (南屏乡), Tonghai. In 1950, it was known as Wushan Township (五山乡), later renamed to the Third Administrative District in 1958. In 1969, it became Wushan Brigade (五山大队), and in April 1980 it was split off as Daheichong Brigade (大黑冲大队). In 1985, it became Daheichong Township (大黑冲乡), then restructured in 1987 into Daheichong Administrative Village (大黑冲行政村). Since the 1999 village reform, it has been referred to as the Daheichong Village Committee (大黑冲村民委员会).
