Kunming - Shuanglang Transportation: By Air, Train & Bus

Shuanglang, a fishing village with a history of over one thousand years, is located in north Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan. Facing the Erhai Lake and connecting with the Jizu Mountain, Shuanglang always offer people with its most charming sceneries. There is no direct transportation from Kunming to Shuanglang, so tourists needs to arrive at Dali first and transfer to Shuanglang by shuttle bus.

How to Get to Shuanglang Town from Kunming?

By Air

It’s not recommended to travel from Kunming to Dali by airplanes. It’s much expensive and time-wasting. Although the duration on the flight is only about 1 hour, while 3-4 hours are needed for the transfer time to and from the two airports. Located on the southeast bank of Erhai Lake, Dali airport is about 13 kilometers away from the city center.

At present, there are 2 daily flights between Kunming to Dali and two airport shuttles Line 1 and Line 2 going to Dali downtown areas. After Dali Airport arrival, take a taxi to Shuanglang directly or change the shuttle bus to Shuanglang. It is 45 kilometers away from Dali airport, about 43 minutes's drive. There are many taxis and chartered buses outside Dali airport.

By High-spend Train

Since June 29, 2018, the normal speed trains from Kunming to Dali are all closed and the high-speed trains are formally put into use, which cut the entire journey to 2 hours. There are more than 20 high-speed trains departing from Kunming South Railway Station to Dali Railway Station from the early morning hours to the late night around 06:30-21:30, with the stop at Kunming Railway Station in the downtown. After Dali Railway Station arrival, take the Bus No.8 to North Bus Station and change the shuttle bus to Shuanglang. The departure time is 8:05, 8:40, 9:15, 9:50, 10:25, 11:00, 11:35, 12:10, 12:45, 13:20, 13:55, 14:30, 15:05, 15:40. It will take about 1 hour.

By Long-distance Bus

Taking a 4-hour coach to Dali is an alternative choice for sometimes the train tickets have been sold out. Tourists can take the coach at Kunming West Bus Station to different stations in Dali City, which runs every 15–20 minutes from the early morning to the late afternoon daily. You can choose the proper one according to your needs. At Dali arrival, take the shuttle bus to Dali ancient town or Dali North Bus station to change the bus to Shuanglang. Anyhow, a chartered car is most time-saving.
