The news was updated on December 7, 2018.

A Lijiang Naxi film entitled Lost Rainbow-The Return of Ancient Pendant was shortlisted for the ethnic group film exhibition at the 27th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival, according to a press conference on Dec 5.

The ethnic group film exhibition is an important part of the Golden Rooster film festival. A total of 16 ethnic group films were shortlisted, and Lost Rainbow-The Return of Ancient Pendant is the only one to be produced in Yunnan province.

The film includes beautiful shots of Yulong Snow Mountain, the Old Town of Lijiang and Baoshan Stone Town. It also showcases the villages, costumes and customs of the Naxi people.

Combining the story of a Naxi hero with modern life in the region, the film is an excellent national epic that showcases Naxi folk culture and Lijiang’s beautiful scenery.

The film crew was invited by the organizing committee to participate in the closing ceremony of the film festival. This made them the first local film group from Yunnan to set foot on the red carpet during the closing ceremony of the Chinese Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival.

Lost Rainbow-The Return of Ancient Pendant was selected as a film to be screened for Yunnan’s foreign cultural exchanges. It will be screened during exchanges with Thailand, Laos and Cambodia in December.

The film will also be screened at various international film festivals such as the Busan International Film Festival and the Toronto Film Festival. The film will help acquaint both domestic and international film buffs with Naxi culture.
