Geographical Location
Wenliu Township (温浏乡) is located in the northeastern part of Qiubei County (丘北县), Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture (文山壮族苗族自治州), Yunnan Province (云南省). It is separated from Zhetai Township (者太乡) in Guangnan County (广南县) by the Qingshui River (清水江) to the east, borders Pingzhai Township (平寨乡) to the south, connects with Shuanglongying Town (双龙营镇) to the west, and borders Gaoliang Township (高良乡) in Shizong County (师宗县), Qujing City (曲靖市), and Guzhang Town (古障镇) in Xilin County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (广西壮族自治区) to the north. The township government is located 70 kilometers from Qiubei County (丘北县) and has a total area of approximately 368.51 square kilometers.
Cultural History
The history of Wenliu Township (温浏乡) dates back to the Republic of China era. In 1938, the area was reorganized as Guipu Township (桂普乡). After 1949, it was renamed Guipu District (桂普区). In 1951, it was further renamed Wen Ce District (温测区), and in 1958, it became the Gangtie Commune (钢铁公社). In 1962, it reverted to Wenliu District (温浏区), and in 1971, it was renamed Wenliu Commune (温浏公社). In 1984, it again became Wen Ce District (温测区) and was officially renamed Wenliu Township (温浏乡) in 1987. In 2005, Yangjie Township (羊街乡) was merged into Wenliu Township (温浏乡).
